she was born on december 16th, 1968 to howard montgomery & bizzy forbes as the youngest forbes montgomery, with archer as her big brother. with a father so spectacular, and a mother so fierce, by nature, she was made to be greatness. she was forged by gold and grandeur. anything less than greatness was a shame indentured upon her family name.addison by every definition was the perfect daughter. she was both daddy’s little girl and mommy’s putty that she used to mold her into shapes and figures that she so desired. being daddy’s little girl meant lying for him, making him his favourite drinks from the tender age of eight. her father, the captain, a salacious man and his sordid affairs in the house — and all addison could do is to conceal that secret for him before she even knew the severity of adultery, before she even knew what it truly means to cheat. she lied to her mother’s face. she lied to everyone’s face donning a facade that her father and her are going out for ice cream when in actuality, he was screwing her french tutor against his office desk. eventually, she learned better. she became resentful and that's when daddy became father, and eventually father became… the captain, and nothing more.

on the other hand, she was her mother’s clay to mold. from attempted ballet classes as a child, to equestrian, to etiquette lessons, to fencing, to private french tutoring, and a myriad of other so called essential classes addison was made to take… bizzy expects nothing more from her, other than perfection. in order to establish discipline, her mother had created great distances between herself and addison, causing her to eventually address her mother with the same distant formality she addresses her father: mommy, was no longer mommy. she was bizzy. she was an authoritative figure in her life who brought her to an orthodontist and gave her the godforsaken braces, cursed her with a lisp for a duration of her adolescent. bizzy was the reason for her isolation in high school. but, she couldn’t blame bizzy. after all, the captain during this whole time had been sleeping with women left and right, in front of and behind her back… bizzy was only doing what she could to keep their family together.when she left home for university the first time, she was given a new found freedom. addison was intimidated by the amount of freedom she had. however, things started to work out for her naturally. she met a girl named clarice who she became absolutely smitten with. flash forward a few years, she broke up with clarice due to diverging paths. given the shame in her chest, she carried all that hurt and emotion on her own. then... she met a boy. and from there on, addison's story unfold and she rises to success.

*UNIVERSITY. leaving her family’s home for the first time ever, addison is confronted with this newfound freedom. with her braces freshly removed, that lisp she once had in high school gone, she now has to find her voice, her confidence. being a rich girl from an uppity upbringing isn’t easy but eventually, she learns how to have fun and she begins finding herself amidst the confusing time of her undergrad. default, yale university is her undergrad but is flexible and can be put in any institution that fits. ages 16-19.

*SINGLE MOM. after addison discovers mark sleeping with a nurse, she keeps the fetus instead of aborting it. in one night, she takes her belongings and moves into a house she purchased. perhaps, in a moment and lapse of judgement, she decides to not tell mark sloan about it and instead, she serves derek divorce papers : it’s not right to keep him in a marriage where she’s carrying the child of another man.
so she moves, and joins a practice with a bunch of people she met during one of her fellowships — well, specifically a women’s centre and she serves as an ob/gyn, board certified neonatal surgeon, perinatologist, as well as a medical geneticist until she goes into labour. on january 23rd, 5:13pm she gives birth to a girl, naming her ‘ella melody montgomery’.
anyways, flashforward, when ella turned 16, she got into a prep school for a prestigious institution (default, it’s the one associated with columbia) and with that, addison also took that as an opportunity to change up the pace of her life — so, she decides to work full time at a hospital again and got hired as the hospital’s chief of surgery.

addison adrienne forbes-montgomery was born in on a snowy day in hartford, connecticut to howard montgomery ( a betazoid ) & elizabeth 'bizzy' forbes. she's the youngest of two of the forbes-montgomery children. born to a family of scientists & doctors, the natural betazoid tendencies are frowned upon.her father was the son of a betazed to earth ambassador and her mother was the daughter of a renowned astrophysicist within the alpha quadrant. the two met & became best friends. with pressure from her family to marry & reproduce, bizzy married addison's father.however, the more time her father spent with bizzy, the more he became ashamed of his natural betazed tendencies & physiology. so overtime he adopted a human name of 'howard montgomery' & got iris implants to appear more humanoid.

when her brother was born, he was born with blue irises much to his parents' pleasure. however, when addison was born she had naturally black irises — a notable trait of betazoids. her family panicked, and her father, who became a surgeon during his stay on earth was the one who performed an iris implant surgery, giving her blue irises.growing up, addison's been the more emotional out of the two — proving that her betazed genes are more prominent than her brother archer's. being taken to a pediatrician at a young age, addison was diagnosed with DOPAMINE DEFICIT DISORDERor more archaically known as ATTENTION DEFICIENT HYPERACTIVE DISORDER. thus, she received an implant to stimulate the brain's dopamine production.the implant allowed addison to focus & center herself more, instead of being lulled away by her surroundings. thus, her awareness to herself was the missing key to unlocking her telepathic abilities.

on the outside, everyone thought of addison as a kind & considerate child who could easily anticipate people's needs. but the reality was : she was reading their thoughts, their minds, & physically embodying their emotions.bizzy & howard convinced her that she was just imagining things. after all — she was just human ... right? or so, she thought.

comparatively, addison was much more sensitive than her older brother archer. she cried easy. she laughed easy ... but that wasn't encouraged. so her family would falsely interpret vulcan philosophies, which lead her to ignore her emotions & signs of sensory overload.

://STARFLEET ACADEMY.

addison always had a curiosity for medicine & biology. since she was five years old, she knew she wanted to be a doctor. she's excelled at school since a young age, garnering amazing recommendations. thus, upon a teacher's recommendation, she got a sponsor & enrolled in the starfleet academy.during the initial physical exam before entering the academy, she got access to her medical records for the first time as previously, she never felt the need to look at them. what she would find out would shake her entire world.at age sixteen, first semester in san francisco, she finds out that she was never fully humanoid. she was half-betazoid all along.this discovery would trigger her to cut off contact from her parents. the ethics, the psychological impact of this secret was not something she could stomach. however, she still had some understand with regards to family affairs due to her still keeping in touch with her brother, archer.during her years in the academy, she majored in exobiology but also developed a keen interest in exolinguistics, exoarchaeology, & many other things. she's learned a myriad of archaic languages such as french, spanish, and latin. she was also an active member of the fencing team.

during her years in the academy, she's garnered the interest of a group of vulcans who decided to help her "maximize" her telepathic potential as it "would be the logical thing to do" & she could sense their affection behind their intentions.

after four years, she went to medical school where she met her husband, derek shepherd & boyfriend, mark sloan — a polycule of some sort. all three of them graduated together & served on various starfleet ships whilst developing their own specialties, & own interests. eventually, due to the failure of her being unable to balance her work & pursuit of knowledge with her personal relationships, she ends up alone & single at some point.

://INTERESTS.

❯ FENCING : been a long term hobby of her's that she's had since she was 12. during her academy years, she was an active member of the fencing team — during her final year, she was the captain of the fencing team.
❯ PIANO : she's been taking piano lessons for as long as she could remember, well, more precisely since she was four years old. it's meant as an act of self discipline from her parents' perspective but for her, it's actually an expression of emotions and offers a healthy avenue to regulate herself.
❯ EQUESTRIAN : possibly one of her favourite things. there's something so liberating about just letting herself go free & being able to communicate with her steed whilst riding in the wild.
❯ TENNIS, RAQUET-BALL : she's played both a lot during her academy years and they're both common sports she's use to bond with her fellow crewmates
